AppEx Networks announced today that InfowareLab, one of the leading network video conferencing service providers, has selected AppEx LotWan appliances to optimize its high volume of video and audio traffic. InfowareLab services video conferences for many large customers in China and around the world, including Alibaba, Bank of China, Sony Ericson, to name a few. To guarantee quality, it has leased a large amount of dedicated bandwidth, shared by the video and audio streams, client download, and other network applications. With the growth of the business, the audio and video quality worsens, especially during the peak time. For InfowareLab to gain better performance, increasing the bandwidth subscription would be a tremendous operational cost for the company, which would also be a waste during the low-traffic hours. So it started to shop for a flow control product in the market. However, all the other solutions it tried either failed to guarantee the bandwidth for A/V streams, or required static reservation which left the bandwidth idle when there is little A/V traffic. With AppEx LotWan, InfowareLab’s problem has a perfect solution. The A/V traffic can be identified with ease and set to high priority, which guarantees the bandwidth when the A/V streams are actively flowing. When the A/V traffic diminishes, the other network applications are able to use the bandwidth released by the A/V flows, maximizing the bandwidth utilization. Deploying AppEx LotWan greatly boosted the overall user experiences and won InfowareLab better customer satisfaction. |
